Pray for Afghanistan.
Pray for America.
Recognize that this is not trivial stuff.
Eternity is serious – people’s lives, mortal and immortal, are at stake. Stop squabbling over civil disputes and preach the Gospel! Lead people to Christ, teach them how to be disciples, serve your community, know the Bible, KNOW the Bible, keep your eyes open to what is happening around the world and PRAY. We were called to be the hands and feet of Jesus- servants of the Most High God, doing His will and work on His behalf on earth. We were not called to “just take care of our own”, to “live our best life”, and so on. Everything we do is for the glory of God, and not to promote our selves and our ambitions. Let us look out and away from ourselves, out into our community, out into the world, praying, “Lord, use me! Show me what to do, what to pray for. Give me words to preach Your Name. Help me catch the urgency for Your truth. May You be the most important One above everything, every desire, every “right”, everything. May Your Name be glorified in my life and efforts, and may people see Jesus through me.”
May we be humbled. May we elevate Christ to His rightful place in our lives: ahead of everything. In charge of everything. The influence behind every decision.
LORD, may Your will be done in our nation, in Afghanistan, in our homes and in our hearts. Help us to obey. Help us to have faith. LORD may Your Name be glorified, and Your Word proven true over all generations. You are always right. We are always wrong. Blessed be Your Name. Forever. Amen.
